Victoria Buckley Jewellery was established when Victoria moved to Sydney from Melbourne to see what life here could hold. Having recently worked with a collective of sculptors and artists she knew that working in miniature was the right path for her. Her first range, in 1992, revived the medieval tradition of engraving words on jewellery. This very successful Posie range sparked a widespread trend in contemporary jewellery which is still in effect sixteen years later. Victoria Buckley Jewellery has recently opened a luxurious new boutique on Level 1 of Sydney's historic Strand Arcade, a centre known for its juxtaposition of heritage architecture with the cool contemporary Australian designers. The new store is a long way from the humble beginnings at Paddington markets in the early nineties. It wasn't long until Victoria was able to move into her first studio and within three years she opened her first boutique on the top floor of the Strand. Victoria quickly out grew the original premises and relocated to Level 1. The last year has seen a major repositioning for the label, with luxurious new packaging, this new website, and indulgent new designs in platinum and 18ct gold. Victoria continues to gather richly coloured gemstones from around the globe and incorporates them into her designs, which are known for their soft organic lines, and poetic language. Clients regularly commission pieces with personal inscriptions. Victoria Buckley's unique pieces have earned her a strong following, with clients from around the world collecting her designs.
